FAT GUY TESLA/DJ BOOMAN HALLOWEEN LIGHT SHOW

1:49 of strobes, lightning, a heartbeat in the dark and dancing doors, built on my own track as DJ Booman. Free for any Tesla that runs custom light shows.

ZIP · 18 MB · contains the LightShow folder (lightshow.fseq + lightshow.wav) · passes Tesla’s light-show validator

Five steps. About five minutes.

  1. Format a USB drive as exFAT or FAT32.

On a Mac, Disk Utility calls these “ExFAT” or “MS-DOS (FAT)”. NTFS and Mac OS Extended won’t work. Use a spare drive; formatting erases it.

  2. Unzip the download and copy the LightShow folder to the top level of the drive.

Not inside another folder. The name is case-sensitive: LightShow, holding lightshow.fseq and lightshow.wav. Keep TeslaCam, firmware or map files off this drive.

  3. Park the car and plug the drive in.

Use a front USB port or the glovebox port, then wait a few seconds.

  4. Open Toybox → Light Show.

The popup should say “Custom Light Show”. Pick the USB show from the drop-down. If it just says “Light Show”, the drive format or folder name is wrong. Go back to steps 1 and 2.

  5. Clear the area, then start it or tap Schedule Show.

Turn the volume up and step back.

⚠ Safety first

  • This show moves parts of the car: mirrors, windows, the charge port, the liftgate (the powered frunk on Cybertruck), Model X falcon doors and Model S door handles.
  • Keep people, pets and hands clear of every door, window and mirror while it runs.
  • Model X: the falcon doors open, so you need room overhead and to the sides. Don’t run it under a low garage ceiling.
  • Run it only in Park, somewhere you’re allowed to. Mind your neighbors, because the strobes and sound are loud and bright.
  • Strobe warning: the show has rapid flashing lights.

Requirements and model notes

What you need

  • Model 3, Model Y, Model S or Model X (2021 and newer), or Cybertruck
  • Software v11.0 (2021.44.25) or newer
  • A USB drive formatted exFAT or FAT32

Older Model S and X may not support custom light shows.

Model 3 & Model Y

The full light show runs on all of them. The liftgate only moves if your car has a power liftgate. On cars with simpler tail lights, the left/right chase blinks both sides together.

Model S & Model X

Some front lights only switch on or off, so fades become hard cuts. Model S gets door-handle moves in the second drop. Model X gets the falcon doors opening and dancing.

Cybertruck

The front and rear light bars run their own scanners and strobes, plus the offroad bar if you have one. The liftgate moves become the powered frunk. Tesla disables the rear turn signals in light shows.

Every car

The core show uses the lights every Tesla shares, so it looks good on any supported car. Your car plays the parts it has and skips the rest. Interior color effects only show on cars with interior accent lighting. The touchscreen shows Tesla’s standard light-show screen.
